This volume mostly includes contributions presented during the 14th International Eclogite Conference (IEC-14) held in Paris and Lyon, France, from 10 to 13 July 2022 (https://iec14.sciencesconf.org/; iec14@ens-lyon.fr).

The collected papers aim at investigating (ultra)high-pressure rocks as well as the subduction and exhumation processes that they record, from the crystal scale to that of orogenic belts. As the IEC-14 marked the bicentenary of the creation of the word eclogite and the 40th anniversary of the first IEC, an effort will be made to highlight the evolution and especially the prospects for research in this field.
